Companies House identity verification becomes mandatory soon.
Every UK company director and PSC must act now to avoid penalties and filing rejections.
From 18 November 2025, all UK company directors and persons with significant control (PSCs) must verify their identity with Companies House. This reform is part of the government’s crackdown on economic crime and aims to create a more transparent, trustworthy business environment.
If you’re a director or PSC, you’ll need to complete the two-step verification process:
- Verify your identity through the GOV.UK One Login or via an Authorised Corporate Service Provider (ACSP) such as your accountant.
- Provide your personal code to confirm your verified status for each company you’re linked to.
You will not be able to file your confirmation statement after 18 November unless all directors are verified and personal codes are included.
Failure to comply may lead to rejected filings, financial penalties, or prosecution for both the company and its directors.
At Highwoods Group, we are an Authorised Corporate Service Provider (ACSP) and can verify your identity quickly and securely.
